Art lovers can admire the works of artists in the whole Bratislava region on Saturday (October 21). 28 studios will open their doors from 10.00 to 21.00. The public can admire paintings, sculptures, bobbin lace, jewellery, ceramics, wood carvings and photographs in these ateliers. Visitors can talk to the artists, get to know their works and the places where they create.
“This event was created as a continuation of the successful Salon of Artists, which has been running for over 20 years, always during the summer months. It is exhibited jointly by professional and non-professional artists. They expressed their interest in closer contact with visitors – the possibility of communication and feedback. That is why the Day of Open Ateliers was born, “said Jana Krajčovičová from the Little Carpathian Cultural Centre in Modra. The main idea of the event is for artists to have closer contact with people who are interested in their work. At this event, people come to art and visit individual studios where art is created directly. Day of Open Ateliers is organized in cooperation with the project Cultural and Creative Revival of Traditions, which is co-financed by the Interreg Slovak Republic-Austria Cooperation Program. “As a result, Austrian artists will come to the event. Last week, Slovak artists visited selected ateliers in Austria. These visits will provide them with the possibility of mutual inspiration,” Krajčovičová said. The ateliers will be open on Saturday in Modra, Vinosady, Pezinok, Budmerice, Viničné, Limbach, Častá, Bratislava, Stupava and Svätý Jur. A map with a list of individual artists and marked locations of their studios can be found on the website of the Little Carpathian Cultural Centre. Already in the first studio they visit, they can pick up a printed bulletin with contact details for artists. The studios will be marked with an easel with a board and a palette with the studio number.
